Help, my monitoring is out of control

Let’s be honest, analytics and monitoring has never been defined as the “sexy” technology everyone talks about and the winner at each year's budget negotiations.

Monitoring is the equivalent to buying insurance, praying you will never have to use it and trying to get the best price possible and as much coverage out of the box.

Reality is that monitoring has evolved over the years, but really never been innovative and never really had the impact needed to get sufficient attention at a IT Director or business level.
Well times are changing and the landscape of technology is forcing companies to rethink the way in which they handle assets and monitoring of critical applications and services.

Because let's face it, most companies today run at critical level, customer facing applications and services, that bring in the cash, the revenue. Being negligent to the importance of monitoring and controlling your most valuable assets, is an error you only make once in your career.

Companies today, solve monitoring by adding silo based monitoring solutions on a number of solutions, thinking this at least “covers me”, should something happen. But why do so few companies consider control and insight into data and critical services important?

Most often the answer is lack of budget. “I dont have the budget to purchase a solution that does not bring value to the business”.

Adding monitoring solutions with a silo based mentality provides no business impact and opportunity. First of all companies become dependent on the person in charge of the individual solutions (What if he is hit by the bus scenario) and all the data they collect on their individual services, stay individual and never become part of one big data lake, from which valuable insight can be computed.

One solution used for monitoring of on-prem environments, another solution run and maintained by the hosting provider of and on top of that, solutions that monitor and analyze all public cloud services. What a mess. No wonder budgets are never allocated as there is no clear plan and no cohesive overview and transparency across all locations, applications, infrastructure and integrations.

In order to solve these challenges we believe a new approach to monitoring is needed.
What about applying AI to the data? What about automation on installation and maintenance?

What about removing the boundaries between on-prem, hybrid and public cloud and treat all solutions, regardless of location, as one?

In essence that is what AIMS is all about.

  • AIMS has automated the way in which monitoring solutions are deployed. It's easy, it's automagic.

  • AIMS does not care where your data and service are located, as long as AIMS can collect the data, it can be presented in one holistic view across platforms and locations.

  • AIMS does not rely on the human mind to set thresholds and parameters. It is all done automatically, based on thousands of metrics, learning and patterns.

In essence it is all about artificial intelligence and the power it adds on top of and alongside the human mind.

So take a leap of faith and try the new way of monitoring which will enable you to connect business metrics to all services and INSIGHT into your data.
